About Us

The prime objective to provide shelter to the healthy children of leprosy patient. After many amendments and provisions of Juvenile Justice Act Children Home Girls and Children Home Boys came in to existence in the year 2018.

To provide healthy recreational facilities including Outdoor-Indoor Games, Cultural Programme inter cottages, Competitions in Rangoli, Anatkashri, Games, Essay, Drawing and Painting Competition are encouraged to provide with them a felling of Leadership, Creativity and Competitions. Festivals are celebrated with the children and life members are also invited.

Balkunj is a project of Haryana State Council for Child Welfare.

The home was established in the year 1970 at Chhachhrauli District Yamuna Nagar with prime objective to provide shelter to the healthy children of leprosy patient.

To protect the children from the unhygienic conditions and to give them an atmosphere of a family.
Facilities for Vocational Training are also arranged through referred services for those children according to their interest and capacities with a view to rehabilitates them back to the society.
To create conditions conclusive to their all around growth.
To Promote Welfare & Development of these children.
To provide Protection and Care to these Children.
To provide Pre School, Formal and Non Formal Education.
To provide overall development to children who needs Care & Protection.

PRIMARY NEED AND HOMELY ATMOSPHERE

Each and every child who is admitted in the home is provided with Health facilities, Balanced Diet and Clothing. Geysers are installed in bathrooms for bathing during winter season. During summers water coolers alongwith campers has been provided to the children of the Home. We try to create homely atmosphere for them so that a child does not feel and bad feeling and feel himself/herself secured and protected. The home also ensures all around Growth and Development of personalities of these children. Children of Home are kept in the safe custody of efficient House Mother to look after them for 24 hours.

Nutritious Food

Each and every child who is admitted in the home is provided Healthy and nutritious food which helps the children for overall development. The three time food is provided to all children as per the menu.

EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES

School Education is compulsory for all the children admitted in the home. Children of different age group are sent to different Government Schools at Chhachhrauli. They are provided full opportunities even to get higher education and they are mo tivated towards doing some education related courses according to their interest and capabilities.

TUITION FACILITIES

Tuition facilities are also available in the premises of Home. Trained Education Teacher is appointed for betterment of the children. After School time all children come to tuition classes to complete their Home Work with the help of Education Teachers.

MRECREATIONAL FACILITIES

Healthy recreational Facilities have been provided to the children of the Home. A separate Recreational Room is set up for the children where TV, Music System has been kept for their entrainment. For outdoor games , A Badminton Ground and Basketball Ground are available for children. Many other creative activities have been encourages as their recreation. Trip to local public places and Educational Tours are arranged for the children.

COUNSELLING SERVICES

Regular Counselling is also provided to the children of Home. Every child is counselled with each and every topic Such as-Psychological Changes, Physical changes, Emotional changes, Guidance and any other problems. The children of home counselled individually and some times in groups. Children of home are also sensitized by the staff and counsellors on the topic- Environment, Integrity, Sanitation, Personal Hygiene, Moral Values, National Days and Weeks, General Awareness.

OUTDOOR AND INDOOR GAMES

Many Indoor and Outdoor games being conducted in the campus of Home undre the supervision of trained Staff (PT cum Yoga Teacher). In the evening the children play Volleyball, Badminton, Basket Ball, Kabaddi, Cricket, Kho Kho, carom Board, Luddo, Chess, Business, Snake & Ladder. Swings and See Saw are also installed in the campus for the recreation of children for their all-round development.

OUTDOOR AND INDOOR GAMES

A library with certain books collection of National Book Trust of India is also set up in the campus of Balkunj. All the children are regularly coming to it and yielding the benefits of its knowledge books. Books of Stories, Indian Culture, Books of General Knowledge, Magazine Children World, Ramayan and Shri Mad Bhagwat Geeta and Dictionaries, Biography, Books on famous personality, Upanayas etc are to be kept in the library.

LIBRARY FACALITIES

MEDICAL FACALITIES

Regular Medical check-up are conducted for the children of the home. Team of CHC Chhachhrauli regularly examine all children and provide medical treatment if needed. A monthly Medical Check Up is also conducted by the teams of Doctors of Nearest Community Health Centre.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING

For proper Rehabilitation facilities for Vocational Training are also arranged through referred services for these children according to their interest and capabilities. A Cutting & Tailoring centre as being run at the campus and the girl inmates learn stitching. Computer training is also provided to the children of home as per their interest and capacities.

SPORTS & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Sports & Cultural Training/ Facilities is also being provided to the children to encourage the cultural Activities. Non-Governmental Organization is engaged to train the children in Dance, Acting and Singing. In which all the children of the Home participated with great enthusiasm. During the year all National Days and weeks and festival was organized in the campus of Home and different Cultural activities were also organized to celebrate the function. Children of home also took parts in District and State level Sports competitions.

BUS FACILITIES TO SCHOOL DOING CHILDREN

A bus having 22 seat capacity is provided for the School going children. The bus take all the children to various school situated at Chhachhrauli, which are 2 Km away from the campus of Balkunj and then back to Balkunj after School. .
